Course Description |
|
|
|
|
|
The course shall provide the general understanding and knowledge of
wireless communication systems needed for assessing different techniques for
wireless communication in specific applications. The course shall provide an understanding
of the factors that influence and limit the performance of different wireless
communication systems, and general knowledge of the methods used in the
system in order to adapt them to prevailing circumstances. Knowledge of
existing standards shall also be provided within the framework of the course.
The students shall also gain experience from penetrating more deeply into a
specific sub-area. The course includes: multi-access methods (TDMA, FDMA, CDMA),
antennas, signal propagation, fading, digital modulation, spread spectrum,
error correcting codes. Instructions consist of lectures and a project assignment. Examination
is by written exam and presentation of the project in writing. The course
encompasses four credit points of theory and one credit of project work.
Grades for the entire course are assigned on the scale 3, 4, 5 or fail. |

The project can be of various kinds, essay,
simulation, implementation etc. The result of the project should be a written
report, approx. 8 pages. Three different kinds of project types: Writing an
essay on a specific topic. Simulation
study. Implementation
